Diamonds are forever
Perfect chemistry
Chemistry is the key to a diamond’s journey, from the deepest recesses of the earth to the hands of Conrad Langaard. People have been fascinated with diamonds since the beginning of time. From humble beginnings as one of the earths commonest elements it is transformed by millennia of time and pressure. An almost impossible number of coincidences come together to form a singular crystal of unfathomable beauty.
The selection of a diamond is a curious mix of both art and science. A study that requires concentration, discipline and quiet contemplation. Every facet is studied, its colour and quality painstakingly evaluated. A purely rational assessment will only get you so far, it is only the artists eye that can discern true brilliance. A truly exceptional diamond will capture the heart of Conrad Langaard. It is therefore only a diamond of exquisite beauty and quality that will become a Langaard diamond.
The Kimberley Process
The Kimberley Process, established in 2003, is a joint governments, industry and civil society initiative to prevent the flow of conflict diamonds of entering the mainstream rough diamonds market. The process was set up to ensure that diamond purchases were not financing violence by rebel movements and their allies seeking to undermine legitimate governments. The participants from 80 countries include all major rough diamond producing, exporting and importing countries.
The stones of Juvelér Langaard have all been purchased from legitimate sources, in compliance with UN resolutions. The sources are guaranteed not to be involved in funding conflict or infractions of human rights of any kind. The seller guarantees that the diamonds are conflict-free based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds.
